Roll Tide!

What a weekend! We had so much fun in Atlanta! We drove into town on Friday afternoon enjoying our half vacation days. Isn’t it funny how much more you appreciate weekday time off after you’ve been working for a while? Anyway, we made the trip to Atlanta and arrived about 5:30. We got settled in to the hotel and then went and got some dinner at Corner Bakery. I know, I know, not a very extravagant dinner pick but I loved Corner Bakery when I worked in Washington, DC and I was dying to go back. Jason, thankfully, was just hungry and didn’t care where we went!

That night we met up with my parents, my brother and some of his fraternity brothers, and some of my parents friends for an oh so fun, oh so trendy party at JCT Kitchen. This restaurant had a really cool patio/bar area above the restaurant that some of my parents friends had rented out for the evening. There was an acoustic guitar playing musician who was really good along with some great food. You always had a perfect view of downtown so it was really pretty. Here’s a picture of Jason and I from the party.

On Saturday we got to sleep gloriously late since the game had an 8 PM kickoff. This was soooo nice! Jason even let me shop at Lennox Square for a while Saturday afternoon which required so much sacrifice from him since he had to miss some of the afternoon games! What a good sport!

Then it was off to the game! We met my brother and his friends at the Marta Station (thanks Charlie for letting us hop into the ticket line with you!) and then endured the most horrible train ride ever on our way to the Georgia Dome. The air was broken on the train and there were so many people trying to get downtown that we were all smushed together with no room to breathe!

The train ride was all worth it once the game started! Our guys played a fantastic game and looked like a brand new team that had been playing together for years! My only hope is that this continues for the rest of the year. I’m always the optimistic one so, for me, things are looking good! Jason and I had great seats thanks to my parents (Thanks Mom and Dad!) and we had such a good time enjoying the game. Overall, it was a fun and relaxing weekend. Now we’re going to enjoy our day off tomorrow!
