I saw this on a blog yesterday and I thought it was a good way to start the week.
As I see the results of this little baby growing in me it’s easy to continually think that this baby is ours. But, this baby, along with everything else in our life is God’s. And while you would think that might make me more nerous, to relinquish control, to give up the life of the baby in my tummy to God, this actually gives me the ultimate peace every time I remember this. While I love this baby so much, I can’t help but remember something that my Mom told me when I was little and learning about how big God was and how much he cared for me. Mom told me that she loved me so much. But the amazing thing was that no matter how much she loved me, God loved me the most.
How awesome is that! How humbling! The God that created our universe loves you more than anyone else on Earth does. More than anyone could ever imagine loving you. You are His child and he loves everything about you.
It’s so nice to remember that with this baby when I start worrying about things like our appointment this afternoon or how in the world am I ever going to be able to take care of a newborn. God knows exactly what will happen every day in this baby’s whole life. He has plans for this baby greater than anything I could ever hope or imagine. And even if those plans don’t line up exactly with the plans that I have for this baby, God’s plans are best because he loves our baby more than we ever could.
So, today, remember how beloved you are to God. He loves you so much, in spite of all of our flaws and fears. He will never leave or forsake us. We are His. Just like everything else in this world, we are His.
