Saturday

Yesterday I wrote about Good Friday.  But today is Saturday.  The day of hopelessness and fear for the disciples and those that loved Jesus.  The day where they despaired of everything they had been told and let their fears and doubts erode the very truths that their Lord had spent three years teaching them.  The day when the chief priests and the Pharisees started to panic that the disciples might try to steal Jesus’ body so they rushed about to “secure” the tomb with soldiers (Matthew 27:62-66).

It was a day of unrest and I know that I live my life a lot of time in that place.  Despairing over what has happened and whether God has forgotten me, not knowing the glorious outcome that will come the next day.  Saturday is a hard day in the Gospel stories and a hard day in our lives.

I thought I’d share some of my favorite Easter posts over the past few years with you on this day so that, hopefully, you can be reminded like I was that Saturday does not last and even if it feels like God has forgotten, he definitely hasn’t!
