Charlotte, Family

Picture overload

I try to edit our pictures before I post them.  That way when they’re on the blog they’re done and I don’t have to post edit when I’m turning the blog into a book.  But that means that sometimes I get behind and struggle to get everything posted that I want to.  So, in deference to that occurrence and the fact that Christmas is fast approaching and I have two events at my house between now and the big day I’m going to just post some pictures that I love but don’t need a post of their own.  Enjoy!
James is growing quickly and as such I’m hurrying to put him in a different outfit every day so that he can wear everything that’s in a 0-3 month or a small 3 month size.  I love this little train outfit and I think he’ll be able to wear it for at least a few more weeks! I also got some really cute grins out of him!

Some battles aren’t worth fighting and while I never thought Charlotte’s outfits would be one that I choose not to fight, it is.  She picks out her clothes by herself most days but if it’s a special event I do offer some guidance although that elongates the process significantly.  On this day she picked out this outfit for school by herself and I was so proud of her! Red twirly skirt, black and white ruffly sweater, and a white shirt underneath.  Adorable!
Charlotte is all about Gramme these days and is constantly asking about her or making her a picture.  One day the weather got kind of iffy while Mom and Gramme were out of the house so they came back to Mom and Dad’s since it was closer.  Charlotte, James, and I headed down to see them and Charlotte loved showing Gramme how she can bowl!

I love this little outfit that I got James from Old Navy (I think?).  It’s soft corduroy and has a hood and is precious.  He looks like such a little boy in it!
Charlotte loves getting under the covers now and any time I leave the bed unmade for any period of time (sadly, a lot more often than it should!) she loves to crawl up to the pillows and get under the covers.  On this day she brought her snacks with her.  I think I was folding clothes on the foot of the bed, but at least she was comfy! 🙂
She’s also started wanting us to tuck her in “snug as a bug in a rug” before she goes to sleep.  Jason started that with her and she likes for me to do it during the day.  I find it so funny that she lays on her back and wants us to tuck her in like that but she makes sure and pulls her arms out before we do it.  Even at two she definitely has her sleep preferences!
We got Charlotte a Lego set to replace her Lego puppy after Luca chewed on him and Charlotte loves getting her lego set out and playing with them!  She especially loves the fence and making things with the fence.

Charlotte loves to snuggle and here she was snuggling under her jacket on the way to T-town with Memma and Papa.

We have decorated for Christmas and Charlotte is enjoying the nativity set that her great-great-grandmother made.  She particularly likes the purple wise man!
And also some sweet things that Charlotte’s saying right now:
– It seems like everyone in our family (extended included) has been a little sick recently.  The other day she was talking to Memma on the phone and she (out of the blue) asked, “How is Papa feeling?”  And when Papa got on the phone with her she asked, “How you feeling Papa?”
– She has progressed so much in her verbal ability recently.  To the point where she’s starting sentences with “Actually….” and “So…”  It’s hilarious to hear her use such grown up sounding words!
– Maybe because we’re trying to reenforce her good behavior and not just punish her bad, she’s become effusive with her verbal encouragement lately.  The other day she told me, “Good job Mommy putting away the dishes.  I’m so proud of you!”
– Charlotte also is a big toucher and loves to hug.  She also puts her hand behind me and rubs my back every time we sit down to pray in her bed.
