Charlotte, Christmas, Family

First Christmas of the Season

We are blessed to have multiple Christmases to attend each year.  In fact, the number of Christmas gathering’s, just with family, is seven (that includes ours at home).  We missed two this year but made the rest.  In order to do that many celebration’s we have to start early!

We kicked off the celebrations on Christmas Eve Eve with KayKay, GrandDavid, Kevin, and Stefanie.  They graciously agreed to come over to our house because the thought of packing everyone up for a long car ride there and back plus a long visit was almost enough to commit me.  So they came over and, after a few minutes of playing where Charlotte was literally running around in circles she was so excited, we had dinner.

After dinner it was finally time for presents!  I couldn’t get finished feeding James quick enough though and Charlotte pulled out some accessories to get herself “fancy” to open presents.

And then she realized that I had pulled out my camera so she pulled out hers to take pictures of me!
We took some group pictures before presents too.  Thankfully Charlotte was content through this but I’m pretty surprised with that looking back!

And then FINALLY, it was time for presents!  She was just so excited she didn’t care what she opened.  The first present that she opened was actually a present for James and she could have cared less, she just wanted to open presents!
The first one that she opened for herself ended up being a Fancy Nancy and Frenchy Madame Alexander doll.  She loves both of them and was so excited!

Jamesy just watched most of the proceedings…

Although big sister tried to show him her Frenchy doll and, as you can see, I think he was a little scared!

She continued to get fancier as the night went on….

And GrandDavid even joined her in the fun by wearing the ribbon from his gift!
She helped everyone open presents and loved every second of it!

Jamesy got his first Alabama jersey and I know he will look so cute in it next fall!

He gave KayKay some big smiles too!

And at the end of the night GrandDavid laid on the floor for a LONG TIME reading Fancy Nancy to Charlotte.  I think he’s made the transition from two boys to a granddaughter just FINE!

We forgot to get a picture of James, KayKay, and the beautiful stocking that she made for him when they were over so we took one Christmas morning.  She makes a stocking for anyone entering the family and they are so neat!

Our first Christmas gathering really let us see how much fun this Christmas would be with Charlotte.  She had such a great time and it was so much fun to watch how excited she was.  She did great with her thank you’s and we loved watching her.  We were glad to have everyone at our home to kick off the season’s celebrations!
