When we started the home building process we did lots of research online and in magazines and books for design inspiration. I wanted to share some of the fun things that we found and included in our book that we gave to our architect. By no means is all of this incorporated into our house but I loved these ideas!
Built in breakfast area
We aren’t getting one with windows behind it but are having a built in bench
A dining room with three sides of windows
Built in dog room
Luca is getting something similar in the laundry room
Built in pull out storage under the stairs
Beautiful grand foyer
Glassed in, built in bookcases
Kids study area
We put something like this upstairs for the kids
Love the general look and feel
Another built in breakfast example — I have a lot of pictures of these because I really wanted one!
Laundry with office area for me
Mudroom area with doors
Small office for me
Love the backsplash — Jason isn’t such a fan
Large built in in the shower
I love these shelves around the range. Still not sure if we’re going to incorporate this.
Beautiful look and feel
I love the places for the hair dryer and curling iron in the bathroom cabinetry!
Love the glassed cabinets that go almost to the ceiling. Also love the look and feel.
Such a neat idea to have pull out shelves in a linen closet. That way things don’t get lost!
This tile is one of my favorites!
I like the idea of tiling up the wall in kids bathrooms since they tend to splash a lot
This is probably my favorite floor. I’m not sure if we’re going to try it in Jason’s office but we might!
This pull out ironing board
is awesome! Takes up less space than a wall one and don’t have to find somewhere to stick a free-standing one!
The pull out toe-kicks for kids is a great idea
I love these leaded glass windows
This wrapping center is awesome!
Most of these ideas came from Houzz and you can most likely find the pins on one of my many home boards on Pinterest.
Any other cool features that you have seen and love or have in your house and think we should incorporate?? I’d love to hear them!
