Construction Chronicles – Twice the speed of light

It seems like we are breaking building time records with the pace that we’re going.  Each week right now includes some big, exciting things!  This week we got windows and some doors!  Marvin Windows supplied our casement windows and we love their look in the house.  We went with the bronze clad color and think that it’s going to look great on the finished house.  Marvin also took care of all of our exterior doors and some of them were hung this week.  We love the look of the Friend’s Entry door that our architect designed.  It’s going to look great stained!

In addition, this week saw continued framing on the interior of the house.  There are only a handful of places that still lack something frame-wise inside.  And the masonry guys started putting together our masonry fireplace on Friday.  They have it up to the roofline and I guess the next step is to cut through the roof to finish it.

It is so much fun to get to walk through the house and watch it all come together.  I know that the interior will seem to take forever, but right now it seems like it’s coming together very quickly!

I asked for the interior of the fireplace to be laid in a herringbone pattern and I’m so excited about the way it looks!
The dining room still lacks one window being put in
Charlotte’s checking out the view from her room.  I’m not going to lie, it’s the best view in the house!
