Charlotte Meets Katie

Our kids love Tuscaloosa and we always look forward to the start of the football season.  Not only do we get to enjoy the place where we (and my parents and brother) went to school, but we also get to have a lot of quality family time.  The second game of the season was no exception.  Kick was a little earlier than the week before and so Charlotte planned to stay for the entire game and go visit the Sparkly Cheerleaders after the game.  Her Papa was, of course, happy to oblige.

We headed to pre-game and were so excited to get to see one of our favorites, Miss Lindsey.  Once the kids remembered her they were all about making her play tag with them and jumping all over her.  Thankfully, she’s a great sport and a great friend!

We headed to the game and were excited to all get to sit together this week.  However, James wasn’t interested in the game for a while and instead occupied himself watching Mickey on my phone.  The boy yelled “Football! Kick!” all week and then when the game started he didn’t want anything of it.  He did, eventually, watch it a little bit but Jason and I ended up taking him home at halftime to put him to bed.

After the game was over, Papa came through and Charlotte got to meet Katie, her new favorite Sparkly Cheerleader.  She also got a picture with a sweet flag girl.  I love how sweet our students are to my little girl.  It makes me so happy!

There will be much more coming on Charlotte’s new best friend, Katie, in the Homecoming post but just to tell you what kind of an impact she has made on my little girl, Charlotte called herself Katie the entire week after she met her and would pretend that she was dancing as a Sparkly Cheerleader and then would come and press her cheek to ours to “take” a picture.  She’s adorable!
