Missing in Action

Well, I apologize for my long absence from the blog.  Not only is pregnancy keeping me down but I also got the stomach bug a few weeks ago which, on top of pregnancy, was even worse than I could have imagined.  In addition, my friend Jana and I hosted a Christmas Sip and shop for our shops (Little Lang’s and Tales of a Peanut) which turned out so well and has kept me busy filling orders between then and now!  But we have been having fun while I’ve been out of blog commission and I wanted to share with you some of what that has been!

Charlotte is still drawing up a storm including this masterpiece of me with Percy in my tummy. (Percy is purple.  I’m a little afraid that Charlotte might have a coming apart if Percy is a boy like we hypothesize…)

It finally turned into boot weather around here and when Charlotte and I broke out our cowboy boots James asked (ok, insisted) that we find Sissy’s old boots so that he could have some too.  They’re at least two sizes too big but he loves them so much!

No pumpkin patch this year (I know, I feel awful but not awful enough to actually go) but the kids didn’t seem to mind going to Lowe’s to pick out pumpkins!  And hopefully they won’t remember that we didn’t go to the pumpkin patch this year until they read this blog in, like, twenty years and will hopefully be over it by then!

Charlotte has had a slew of birthday parties and fun with her school friends recently.  It’s so much fun to see her with friends that she has made.  It’s also terrifying to watch them play and interact and wonder about what they’re saying and doing.  Being a Mom is not for wimps!

Our fun neighbors have a ghost who “travels” around their yard every night to a new location.  Our kids have fallen in love with him and after we told them how much they loved him, the ghost magically appeared in OUR front yard!  The kids had so much fun playing outside “with” him one morning.  Right now their favorite phrase is “ahhhh! ghost!” although they both will tell you that ghost’s aren’t real so hopefully they won’t be too scarred.

After being the flower girl in Anna’s wedding Charlotte has been playing wedding all week.  This is her in her wedding dress wearing the tiara that I wore when Jason and I got married.  It’s so sweet to see her pretend to walk down the aisle and everything!

Brother was her ring bearer and wanted something on his head since Sissy had a tiara, his Braves hat did well enough for him.

And maybe in the biggest miracle of the month at our house, Charlotte woke up one morning and told us that she had stopped sucking her thumb!  As a reward she got to get her fingernails painted which she has been waiting for for such a long time!  We are so incredibly thankful that she did this by herself and in her own time.  Hopefully this will enable us to avoid a orthotic device next year like the dentist told us that we were looking at.  We’ll just hope for regular braces at the regular time. 🙂

IMG_3761This little guy is all about books these days and can sit for minutes flipping through them “reading” them to himself.  He has a varied taste between truck books and his sister’s books but I just love that he loves books.  He also greatly dislikes pictures and is smiling because he just started telling me “no pic-sure” at this point.  At least I got a mischievous grin!
