Charlotte, Family

Friends

I love that, at least at this point in time, our kids are friends.  Charlotte usually does her own thing and James follows her around like she’s his leader.  This is great until Charlotte actually wants James to do something and he doesn’t “obey” her or she wants to do something and James keeps messing it up.  But reading books is something that they can do near each other but not bother each other about.

Charlotte spent some time “reading” like a teacher from her book to James but I think she gave up when he turned away from her to “read” his book.
Speaking of his book, it’s a Joy to the World book that plays the song when the book is opened.  (Sidenote, our kids love these books and want more like them for Christmas.  Also, put a piece of masking tape over the speaker on the back.  It’s only volume is LOUD and the tape makes it a little more manageable. Also, our Christmas books have been out since September.  We start the season early around here.)  It’s great when the book opens correctly because then you have something to dance to.  But, when you’re one, it’s hard to figure out how to open it correctly every time which sometimes results in this…..

Sweet Sissy spent some time reminding James how to open the book to make it sing but after about five times when she would show him and open it and he would be happy and then it would stop and he would start crying again she gave up.  I don’t know that one or three are great ages for perseverance.
